Still searching for the perfect pair of sailor pants . . .

So, I've been looking for the perfect pair of sailor style pants for awhile now. I'd love to wear the real ones, but I think that I would go crazy with wool against my legs, plus I want to wear them in the Summer. I've had somewhat-sailor-style pants in khaki and navy cottons. I spotted this pair, which really looks good with the buttons on the front, in a catalog that I got this week from La Redoute - and they do come in indigo also. I'm not sure about the fold-up and button cuffs though, and also they have a side zipper, which I think would bug me (Read #1 in the 6 Weird Things About Me Post) So I am thinking them over for now.
I've been thinking about Summer and what I want to wear this year. I want some nautical looking things and some bright and fun Summer dresses. I've been on the lookout for Vested Gentress dresses too with their cute novelty prints, like this Winking Horses Dress

I've seen vintage sailor pants in white cotton duck, but they are really hard to find. I'm assuming they were just worn to shreads on the job. But I love the look, and can see why you want them!

I just got my first summer wear purchase in the mail - an early 60s gathered skirt with a cute black and white novelty print, with added red touches. I love Vested Gentress, but I've never found the perfect dress or skirt for me. But I'll keep looking...

Hi Lizzie,
I've sold some of the white sailor pants in the past too. They didn't have the buttons across the front though, and that's what I really like, besides the wide legs. Also, I have a phobia of wearing white pants! (I'm weird)
I've never had a Vested Gentress in my stock, surprisingly enough. But I'm a fan and always on the lookout to buy one for myself. I usually get outbid. (I'm cheap)

I was just surfing blogs and found this one about La Redoute. I didn't buy any pants (lot's of other stuff though), but I did sign up for their LR TXT program about a month ago, I found it on their website and figured I'd give it a try.

I guess about once a month they send out promo text messages. When I signed up I got one for 20% an item, no biggie but nice… Just got one thursday for 30% any item! That I like, can't find that anywhere on the internet for them!

If you like La Redoute, this is where the best deals are at! I found it on the bottom of their homepage www.laredoute.com

I totally know what you mean about the wool on your legs! There are so many cute vintage things I just can't bring myself to wear because the fabric is too itchy!

Delia's has a cute pair of white stretch twill sailor pants with the button front flap in green, white, blue and khaki. Also come in several lengths. Considering buying a pair of white because they are so hard to find. Plus right now they have a buy one get one half off and the pant is $39.50
